Bicycle rain cover BikerTop allows instantly open and close

Other types of cover already exist in the marketplace, released in the past few years, but BikerTop is the only system that allows instant opening and closing. All this is done using several simple movements and the whole rig weighs about 3 kg and the shield is claimed to withstand winds of up to 35 km/h.

The idea of bicycle rain covers BikerTop was born from a realization that a primary obstacle for bicycling is the fact that this means of transportation is exposed to weather conditions – when it’s raining, bike using is drastically reduce. This bike accessory works by being mounted onto the front of a bicycle and can be erected in mere moments to immediately protect from inclement weather. The unit will cover the front section of the bike to prevent splashing, while the top section will further prevent rain from making it to the rider.

The original and interest project of an Italian start-up aims at a very light and flexible bicycle rain cover to take advantage of bikes and e-bikes even in adverse weather conditions. The goal was to provide the bike with the same protection as a scooter with a covering windshield, but achieving greater ease. The tests of the umbrella for bikes on the road and in the laboratory show that there are no particular impacts on the stability of a bike that mounts BikerTop. The bag of BikerTop that holds the instant roof is 50 cm x 30 cm x 10 cm. BikerTop can also remain on the bike and secured to the vehicle by key to preventing theft. The materials are made of resistant and durable: nylon, polyamide, polyurethane and jersey.
