HP Velotechnik is the only recumbent bike manufacturer to equip its electric trikes with motors from the German Neodrives. All 15 models from the sporty low-racer Speedmachine to the touring Trike Scorpion plus can be equipped with the rear wheel hub motors now. For the first time, Neodrives will equip its Z20 system with electric reverse gear for the Scorpion and Gekko series.

HP Velotechnik was founded by Paul Hollants and Daniel Pulvermüller in 1993. Its production site in Kriftel near Frankfurt employs about 35 people and manufactures approximately 2,000 electric trikes per year, making it the European market leader. HP Velotechnik has developed 14 recumbent models across the entire class spectrum from everyday bikes to racers. All models are available with powerful electric motors. Recently, the full suspension trikes of the Scorpion class won three times in a row the renowned Eurobike Design Award. Its folding technology is patented pending to the German.

Recumbent bike or electric trike and rear motor: they simply fit together. That’s why HP Velotechnik is equipping all 15 series with the Neodrive Z20 (250 W / 40 Nm) as of November, replacing its previous premium manufacturer GO SwissDrive. The change had become necessary for the Hessian recumbent bike manufacturer after the Swiss announced their withdrawal from the market at the beginning of 2019. The new drive system is showed at the Eurobike trade fair at the booth of HP Velotechnik.
